IF YOU CAN COUNT YOUR MONEY YOU DON'T HAVE A BILLION DOLLARS. J. Paul Getty Portmanteau is the odd name for the combination of two words in order to form a single word, such as brunch (breakfast + lunch) or motel (motor + hotel). Forex has a similar genesis being derived from foreign + exchange, previously a sign mostly seen at airports. Today, forex designates a very specific financial market. “Forex Dealers” formed their own forex dealer association ACI (“Association Cambiste Internationale”) in Paris in 1955. It has 25 000 members in 83 countries. ACI has adopted an international code of conduct and professional practice for the forex markets known as The Model Code. PAC has included The Model Code in its compendium of internal standards and procedures. |
